Described by Fanfare Magazine as “one of the most talented and intriguing of living composers, ” Lori Laitman has composed multiple operas and choral works, and over 250 songs, setting texts by classical and contemporary poets. Students will sing some of her songs, in anticipation of presenting the West Coast premiere of her opera, The Scarlet Letter.

Swedish saxophonist and composer Anders Lundegård presents several new compositions alongside classical masterpieces of the eighteenth- and twentieth-century, with UCI pianist Yuliya Minina, and a string trio and quartet composed of UCI students. Dr. Lundegård is famous for the witty and educational presentation of his programs, which offer asides on Swedish and American culture, as well as music history and the legacy of the saxophone.
