The UCI Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kevin McKeown, performs both traditional and contemporary works written specifically for the wind band genre.

Blending innovative composing, adventurous improvisation and creative technologies, this concert will feature diverse contemporary music by UCI faculty composer-performers Chris Dobrian, Nicole Mitchell, Kojiro Umezaki, Lukas Ligeti and Michael Dessen, who direct the Music Department’s doctoral program in Integrated Compositon, Improvisation and Technology (ICIT).

The UCI Undergraduate Jazz Program presents its quarterly concert to showcase the Small Group student ensembles. There will be several combos under the direction of the Jazz Faculty. Please join us for an evening of exciting jazz music and improvisation.

Internationally renowned Jazz pianist and recording artist, Kei Akagi, is joined by Darek Oles on bass, Jason Harnell on the drums, plus special guest Michael Dessen on trombone for two evenings of extraordinary jazz.
