Musicology lecture with Walter Everett: Three Tracks from The Beatles' Revolver
Our Musicology lecture series continues with Prof. Walter Everett, a leading scholar and theorist on the Beatles and popular music. The lecture will take place in the third floor colloquium room in CAC, May 22, 4 pm.
Prof. Everett will speak on "Three Tracks from The Beatles' Revolver: "And Your Bird Can Sing," "Tomorrow Never Knows," and "Eleanor Rigby."
Walter Everett is author of Sex and Gender in Pop/Rock Music (Bloomsbury, 2023), the two-volume set, The Beatles as Musicians (Oxford, 1999, 2001), The Foundations of Rock (Oxford, 2009), and (with co-author Tim Riley) What Goes On (Oxford, 2019). He has addressed more than eighty audiences around the world and published an additional thirty-five book chapters and essays for peer-reviewed journals on many topics in rock and classical music repertoires. Everett is Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Michigan and a faculty member at RPM School (rpm-school.com).
