Instrument Loan

Instruments owned by the Department of Music are for use by Music students and the department's ensembles only; they are not available to the campus community at-large.

  • Instruments are not loaned for auditions. Any student auditioning for Music - whether for admission to Music as a major, or participation in an ensemble, must bring their own instrument.

Loan Requirements

  • Instruments cannot be taken home. They may only be accessed in their assigned room, during periods when classes or lessons are not in session. Students borrowing instruments must make room reservations for this time, as part of the loan process.
  • Borrowers are responsible for proper use and care of instruments while in their posession. Report any issues with instruments by emailing Include photos if possible.
  • Borrowers will be held liable for damage caused by carelessness or negligence.

  • The department's ensembles have priority over all instruments.
  • Instruments are not available for loan during Monday - Thursday evenings, 6:00 - 10:00 pm, or on dates of ensemble performances.
