Gary Heaton-Smith

Dr. Gary Heaton-Smith (he/him/his) is an Assistant Professor of Music at Antelope Valley College and Lecturer at UC, Irvine, where he directs percussion studies. Gary has had the opportunity to perform as a percussionist with a number of artists—from the Los Angeles Philharmonic to Los Angeles Opera to Paul Simon—and has performed and conducted extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He is a published composer through GPG Publications and SP Publications. He has a BA in Music Performance (Percussion) from Fresno State, MA in Music Composition from Fresno State, and DMA in Music Performance (Percussion) from UCLA.
