Alexander Dunn

A sought after performer and pedagogue, Dr. Alexander Dunn has performed to enthusiastic acclaim in festivals and in solo, chamber and concerto appearances around the world. He has been guest instructor at universities and conservatories across North America and is a frequent judge in competitions and festivals. Dr. Dunn holds a Ph.D. in Musicology (University of California, San Diego), Bachelor and Masters in Performance (San Francisco Conservatory of Music), and years of study at the Aspen Music School and Salzburg Sommerakademie. A protégé of Pepe Romero and established builder, Dr. Dunn has trained many young players to successful performing and academic careers. Director – guitar studies at the University of Victoria, Director – Summer Guitar Academy, Member: College of Examiners – Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. Dr. Dunn serves on the Education Board of the Guitar Foundation of America and has received awards and recognition for international refugee work and excellence in teaching.
