Ryan Rost

Born and raised in Southern California, bassist Ryan Rost earned his Bachelor Degree in Jazz Performance from UCI in 2002, then quickly became an in-demand musician across the Southland, performing at venues such as Steamers Jazz Club, Dizzy’s, the Fullerton Jazz Festival, and has been seen on the Ellen Degeneres Show. He has performed with notable jazz musicians Jeff Hamilton, Kenny Burrell, Kei Akagi, James Newton, and Joe LaBarbara to name just a few. He has studied bass with Luther Hughes, Darek Oles, Art Davis and two members of the LA Philharmonic, Dennis Trembly and Jack Cousin. Ryan enjoys composing original music as well as arranging popular songs into various styles, and looks forward to earning his Master’s Degree in composition from UCI in a couple of years. He lives with his wife and son in Garden Grove.
