Professor Nicole Mitchell, who joined the Music Department in fall of 2011, is the subject of a recent article in the New York Times. The article describes how Mitchell left her longtime home of Chicago in order to join the department’s newest area of emphasis, Integrated Composition, Improvisation and Technology (ICIT). As Mitchell is quoted in the article, “I wouldn’t have left Chicago for just any teaching gig. This is a dream job, very open in combining the different disciplines.”
