Taiko composer-performer, Shih-wei Wu presents a performance of his graduating capstone project, Zheng, a cross-cultural composition that features Japanese taiko drums, strings, trombones and electronics. Zheng is a creation from Wu’s artistic interests in integrating local history with composition and performance. It explores the visual impact and aural experience of the Japanese taiko in combination of Western orchestral instruments and electronics.
