Making Music Apps that Integrate YOUR Artistic Practice!

In this 90-minute workshop, participants will expand their musicmaking practice by designing app-enabled expressions. This is an all-levels workshop that utilizes participants’ individual skills with their primary instrument and/or creative technologies. Participants will design solutions to real case scenarios that utilize internet/network technologies. There will be very limited coding instruction in basic HTML/CSS/Javascript. Downloadable materials will be provided prior to the session.

David García Saldaña (he/him): A homegrown Los Angeles Chican@ composer, writer, and singer (ASCAP, NACUSA-LA, ACF-LA, DG) interested in (re)designing musicmaking tools and technologies. These include new tuning systems using simple-ratio relationships, spectral deconstruction, and reimagining standard performative practices through the use of electronics and controller design. His latest work expands into digital media arts with the inclusion of interactive graphical interfaces.
