Elizabeth Erickson is a composer and pianist. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she studied jazz and classical piano, improvisation, and composition, under the direction of Brad Bietry, Curtis Smith, Glen Whitehead, and Jane Rigler.
Erickson co-founded and performed with Colorado Springs based electroacoustic quartet Verse, as well as many jazz oriented ensembles in the Pikes Peak region. She has also been afforded the opportunity to work with artists Miya Masaoka, Pamela Z, and the Double Edge Theater company.
Compositionally, Erickson’s style has been greatly influenced by the exploration of extended piano techniques, as well as interdisciplinary collaborations with theater and dance.
