The prepend object allows you to concatenate two messages. The argument(s) of prepend will be placed before whatever comes in the inlet (with a space separating the two), and the combined message is then sent out the outlet.
For this example to work properly, you will also need to download the small text file subtitles.txt.
You can change the color of text in most Max UI objects with the textcolor attribute. Note that the color must be specified in the RGBA format—red, green, blue, and alpha (opacity)—rather than simply RGB. That is, textcolor requires four arguments, and will not work with only three.
This example shows several different ways you can display changing text in the user interface of your Max patch. For demonstration purposes, we’re storing the text we want to display in a message box, but in actual practice, if you had a whole collection of different messages you want to display at different times, you could keep them all in a coll object.
