Martim Galvao

Martim Galvão is a composer and percussionist.  He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University, where he studied with Michael Cebulski and Steve Everett.

Galvão has performed extensively with ensembles ranging from jazz combos to symphonic orchestras.  His composing style, like his playing style, is varied.  Most recently, his work has focused on writing for duets or small chamber groups as well as exploring interdisciplinary approaches to creating a more engaging performance environment.

He is an advocate for greater interaction between the arts, as evidenced by his recent collaborations with dance, film, and lighting artists.
