This innovative art song recital pays homage to the centennial of World War I. The concert features baritone John Brancy and pianist Peter Dugan. Their repertoire ranges from song cycles of the 19th century to original arrangements of the American Songbook and modern popular tunes.

Through new works commissioned by the Asia/America New Music Institute (AANMI), the “elegant and exacting” ensemble Hub New Music (Boston Globe) and “virtuosic, deeply expressive shakuhachi player and composer” Kojiro Umezaki (New York Times) craft dialogues between Eastern and Western musical traditions on flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and shakuhachi.
