Borey Shin


Improviser, composer and sound artist Borey Shin makes music inspired by a diverse range of artistic cultures. He plays accordion, piano, synthesizers and laptop in varied musical contexts. In the summer of 2014, he was invited as one of twelve Artists-in-Residence to the Omi International Arts Center. In 2010, he performed at the Moers Festival in Germany as a member of New York based band, Super Seaweed Sex Scandal. Under the tutelage of Anthony Coleman, Ted Reichman, John Mallia and Ran Blake, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation and Master’s in Composition at the New England Conservatory.
