Composition

Students in composition benefit from access to both the Gassmann Electronic Music Studio and the Real Time Experimental Audio Laboratory The Gassmann Electronic Music Series presents several electronic music events during each academic year, featuring some of the most interesting musicians and scholars in the field. The series includes concerts, lecture/demonstrations, and master classes.

Additional Course Requirements

  • Six quarters of ensemble performance selected from UCI Orchestra (Music 160), Wind Ensemble (Music 161), University Chorus or Chamber Singers (Music 162 or 171, respectively), Chamber Ensembles (Music 174 or 176), UCI Jazz Orchestra (Music 178), or Advanced Jazz Combo (Music 182)
  • One quarter of Instrumentation (Music 136)
  • Two quarters of Music Technology (Music 51 and 151)
  • Three quarters of Composition (Music 150)
  • A Senior Project (Music 192P) may be substituted for the Senior Recital (Music 192S).
