UCI choirs win prestigious international honors
UC Irvine choral ensembles, under the direction of music professor Joseph Huszti, won top awards last weekend at the International Eisteddfod competition in Llangollen, Wales, one of the world’s most prestigious choral competitions. Dozens of choral groups participated from universities and music conservatories representing 34 countries.

SING! Auditions will take place during
Welcome Week on Tuesday, September 25 and Wednesday, September 26 from 2-5 p.m. in Room 109 Music and Media Bldg.. Attend the Open Rehearsal on Tuesday at noon in Winifred Smith
Hall and meet members of the ensembles. Call the Department of Music
949-824-6615 after September 1 to schedule an appointment for your
audition.

The fall quarter will include the Madrigal Dinner (ucimadrigal.com),
the Festival of Choirs in October and the "Messiah Sing"
in November. All UC Irvine students are welcome to SING! Email jbhuszti@uci.edu for further information.

When you arrive for your audition please fill out the audition card provided. A member of the choral staff will hear you sing a short solo of your choice or "My Country 'Tis of Thee" or "Star Spangled Banner." We will check your range, sight-reading skills and tonal memory. Just drop by Room 109 on the first floor of
the Music and Media Bldg anytime between 2PM - 5PM on Tuesday & Wednesday. We look forward to meeting you!
