The Choirs at UCI

Chamber Singers is an auditioned mixed ensemble which presents
the annual award-winning Renaissance Madrigal Dinner featuring the
court of King Henry VIII. The group was invited to represent the
United States at international festivals in Korea, Spain and Mexico. A Tour to the International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales is planned for July, 2008.

Madrigal Singers is an auditioned ensemble for first-year singers
that performs at the Madrigal Dinner. They will combine with the Chamber Singers on the tour to Wales in July, 2008. Concerts
are presented each quarter.

Concert Choir consists of the combined Chamber and Madrigal Singers
performing repertoire ranging from Renaissance to Gershwin. It has
toured in the United States and Europe, and has won international
prizes in Hungary, Holland and Wales. The choir plans to compete in Llangollen, Wales in July, 2008 at the International Musical Eisteddfod.

Men in Blaque,
an 18-voice male vocal ensemble, performs a wide variety of music
ranging from popular Broadway musicals to awe-inspiring Gregorian
chant. The men have been invited to International Festivals in Korea,
Mexico, and Spain. They participated in the International Choral Olympics in Xiamen, China in 2006, winning two silver medals and a gold certificate and plan to return to Graz, Austria in July, 2008.

University Choir is made up of students, faculty, staff and combined choirs to perform and read such works as Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat, Beethoven's Ninth
Symphony, Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, and other masterworks
with orchestra. Carmina Burana is planned for the Spring quarter.
